The Transformation of Trust in the Screen Society: Social Isolation under the Authority of Automation

In today's world, the increasing use of automation alongside digitalisation has become one of the key factors reshaping human-to-human interactions and transforming the structure of society. This transformation not only enhances efficiency but also has profound social and psychological effects, both on the individual and society, and vice versa, thereby necessitating a detailed scholarly examination. This article examines the impact of digitalisation and automation on modern society, focusing on how these processes transform social relationships among individuals. It emphasises issues such as the diminishing sense of control over increasingly integrated automation systems, leading to social isolation, loss of trust, and the weakening of individuals' social skills. The study highlights the potential risks and consequences of delegating trust to automation and technology, including loss of control, autonomy, critical thinking skills, and the potential for manipulation. The article highlights consumers' dependence on digital media and automation, as well as the impact of surveillance capitalism on society. This study examines the impact of rapid technological advancements on modern society, focusing on automation. It highlights the increasing integration of autonomous systems and the evolving relationship between humans and technology. The research aims to highlight the potential risks and consequences associated with relying on automation and technology, including the loss of control, autonomy, critical thinking skills, and the potential for manipulation. The article emphasises consumers' dependence on digital media and automation, as well as the effects of surveillance capitalism on society. The objective of the research is to conceptually explore how digitalisation and automation influence individuals' social lives, and how these technological systems affect trust, choice, and communication processes among individuals, considering the diminishing role of humans in the face of machine precision and power. It underscores the ease of access to automation and the resulting dependency. The study examines how automation has become an authority in today's world and how it weakens social bonds between individuals. The research adopts a qualitative approach. Through a literature review and case study methods, this research examines the social relationships enabled by technology and automation, and these concepts are discussed within a theoretical framework. The study concludes that the influence of technology, media, and globalisation leads to the homogenisation of experiences and the loss of individuality, with individuals' self-identities and decision-making processes being shaped by these factors.
Günümüzde dijitalleşme ile birlikte otomasyonun kullanımının artması, insan-insan etkileşimlerinin şeklini değiştirerek toplumsal yapınyı da dönüştüren faktörlerden biri haline gelmiştir. Bu dönüşüm, verimliliği artırmakla beraber bireyden topluma toplumdan bireye sosyal ve psikolojik derin etkiler oluşturmakta ve bu durum ayrıntılı bir incelemeyi gerektirmektedir. Makalenin ana mesajı, dijitalleşme ve otomasyonun modern toplum üzerindeki etkilerini ve bu süreçlerin bireyler arasındaki sosyal ilişkileri nasıl dönüştürdüğünü incelemektir. Özellikle, otomasyon sistemlerinin artan entegrasyonu ile insanların bu sistemler üzerindeki kontrol hissinin azalması ve bunun sonucunda sosyal izolasyon, güven kaybı ve bireylerin sosyal becerilerinin zayıflaması gibi sorunların ortaya çıkması vurgulanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, hızlı teknolojik gelişmelerin modern toplum üzerindeki etkisini otomasyon üzerinden ele almıştır. Otonom sistemlerin artan entegrasyonuna ve insanlar ile teknoloji arasındaki gelişen ilişkiye dikkat çekmektedir. Otomasyona ve teknolojiye güvenin teslim edilmesiyle kontrol, özerklik ve eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin kaybının yanı sıra manipülasyon potansiyeli de dahil olmak üzere potansiyel risk ve sonuçlarına dikkat çekmek amaçlanmaktadır. Makale, tüketicilerin dijital medya ve otomasyona olan bağımlılığını ve gözetim kapitalizminin toplum üzerindeki etkisini vurgulamaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı, dijitalleşmenin ve otomatizasyonun, bireylerin sosyal yaşamlarındaki etkilerini ve bu teknolojik sistemlerin bireyler arasındaki güven, seçim ve iletişim süreçlerini nasıl etkilediğini, makine hassasiyeti ve gücü karşısında insanın azalan rolünü kavramsal olarak ele almaktadır. Otomasyona erişimin kolaylığını ve bunun sonucunda ortaya çıkan bağımlılığı vurgular. Otomatizasyonun günümüzde nasıl bir otorite haline geldiği ve bireyler arasındaki sosyal bağları nasıl zayıflattığı incelenir. Araştırma, nitel bir yaklaşıma dayanmaktadır. Literatür taraması ve olgu incelemesi yöntemleri kullanılarak, teknoloji, otomatizasyon ve sosyal ilişkiler üzerine yapılan önceki çalışmalar incelenmiş, bu kavramlar teorik çerçevede ele alınmıştır. Çalışma, teknoloji, medya ve küreselleşmenin etkisinin deneyimlerin homojenleşmesine ve bireyselliğin kaybolmasına yol açtığı ve bireylerin öz kimliklerinin ve karar alma süreçlerinin bu faktörler tarafından şekillendirildiği sonucuna varmaktadır.
